The Orange County Department of Education has created a website to provide parents and schools with the most current information about the H1N1 and seasonal flu viruses.

Here are some important tips for parents too, including a link to the Orange County Department of Education’s Resources:

·        People who are sick should stay home from work or school and avoid other people until they are fever free for 24 hours, and are no longer presenting symptoms of illness.

·        Teach children to wash their hands often using soap and water.  Let them see you do the same—they learn by example.

·        Teach children to cover their coughs and sneezes with tissues or by coughing and sneezing into the inside of the elbow.

·        Teach children to stay at least 3 feet away from people who are sick.
